About the Older Preschool
We know that children learn through play, so we will spend a large portion of the day playing in centers (art, dramatic play, blocks, etc.). I will encourage children to play cooperatively and focus on conflict resolution when issues arise. We will also play outside daily whenever the temperature is between 25 and 90 degrees.
We will have a weekly theme and many of our activities will relate to it. Each day our circle time will consist of calendar, weather, stories and songs. We will also have math, science, art and music activities. We will be reviewing colors and shapes, and focusing on number and letter recognition. Lesson plans and the daily schedule are posted on the classroom door as well as important reminders and sign-ups for special activities. Please check the app daily for important info about your child’s day. You will also receive a monthly calendar.

- 6:30-9 Arrival and free play
- 9-9:30 AM Snack
- 9:30-10 Circle time
- 10-10:45 Center time and Project/art
- 10:45-11 Potty time
- 11-11:40 Outside Play
- 11:40-12:30 Lunch
- 12:30-12:45 Potty time and Quiet reading
- 12:45-3 Nap
- 3-3:30 PM Snack
- 3:30-6 Free play/Outside time/Departure
All Outside Time is weather permitting.
